Alice’s face turned cold as well. “Say that again, you saw me press the button with your own eyes p>
Aurora was terrified and quickly hid behind Michael. Her body was trembling, and her voice became choked. ‘Mr. Johnson, I’m telling the
truth
Michael put his arm around her shoulder and looked at Alice coldly. “It’s not your place to question her p>
His voice carried anger, and no one else in the room dared to argue.
Alice looked at him sarcastically. Indeed, people in love were fools. Such an obvious lie, yet he believed it? Or maybe he just wanted her to leave, and Aurora was giving him a proper excuse.
Alice stared at him intently. “So you believe her p>
“She’s telling the truth.” Michael’s answer made Alice laugh out loud.
Aurora explained softly, “Mr. Johnson, I swear I didn’t lie. You can check the surveillance p>
She sobbed quietly and pretended to wipe her tears.
Alice tilted her head and looked at her. “Didn’t you hear? There’s no surveillance in the factory. Have you had enough of your act p>
“Enough!” Michael suddenly interrupted her.
“Alice, you made a mistake and now you’re blaming Aurora? It’s all your fault, you have no right to blame others!” Michael roared, and the
room fell silent.
Alice moved her lips but didn’t say another word.
In ten years, this was the first time Michael had scolded her in front of others, and it was over a baseless accusation.
She closed her eyes, barely suppressing her grievance.
Even if Michael didn’t like her, she had been with him for ten years and never made a mistake at work. Yet, he turned on her because of
Aurora’s lie.
Even though she knew Michael would favor Aurora, she still felt wronged.
Alice opened her eyes again, and all that was left was sarcasm. Michael was rotten to the core, just like Aurora.
Aurora’s eyes filled with more tears, and her voice carried grievance. “Mr. Johnson, I swear, I’m not lying p>

“Okay, I believe you, Michael coaxed her gently.
Alice watched them quietly.
If it were a few years ago, she wouldn’t have understood why Michael chose not to believe her. She had been Michael’s secretary for ten years, never making a mistake in life or at work.
Alice spoke calmly, “If it’s my fault, I’ll take responsibility p>
“Then what are you still arguing about? Aurora is the witness, why would she frame you?” Michael quickly interrupted her.
Alice was stunned for a moment before laughing out loud. Didn’t he know the reason Aurora framed her?
Seeing the sarcasm in her eyes again, Michael’s eyes almost spewed fire. Why did Alice only look at him with ridicule now?
Just as he was about to get angry, Aurora suddenly exclaimed, “It hurts p>
“What happened?” Michael quickly turned to look at her.
Aurora shook her head. “It’s nothing, my wrist just hurt a bit earlier. Mr. Johnson, you got hurt saving me, you should see a doctor p>
Michael sighed. “You’re hurt and still thinking about me p>
“Of course, I care about you.” Aurora shyly lowered her head.
Michael held her in his arms. “Sweetie, I’ll get a nurse to take care of you later. Don’t lift heavy things with your wrist, okay p>
They were being affectionate as if no one else was around, making everyone else awkwardly look away.
Alice had seen enough of the show and got out of bed, enduring the pain in her ankle.
At this point, rather than torturing herself, she might as well tear off the facade. She wanted Aurora to know she wasn’t a pushover
Seeing her approach, Aurora cowered in Michael’s arms. ‘Alice p>
“Call me Ms. Baker. We’re not that close. Alice didn’t give Michael a chance to speak. So, are you sure you’re telling the truth?
Aurora looked at Michael with tearful eyes. “Mr. Johnson knows, my family has faith, and it doesn’t allow me to lie Im sorry, I can’t help
you.
She kept saying she couldn’t lie and that she had faith, just to make everyone believe she was telling the truth.
But such ambiguous answers weren’t what Alice wanted.

She pressed, ‘Are you sure you saw me press the button, causing the elevator to go down p>
“Alice, are you deaf? How many times do you need to ask? Michael impatiently pushed her.
Alice almost lost her balance, and a colleague stepped forward to support her.
The colleague kept giving her looks, telling her not to pursue it further, but she just smiled.
Michael instinctively reached out to pull Alice, but Aurora held his hand. “Mr. Johnson, don’t be angry. Alice is just confirming the
situation with me, it’s okay p>
She turned to Alice. “Alice, I can tell you clearly, I did see you press the button p>
“I should have stopped you in time, but the incident happened so suddenly, I didn’t have time to react. I’ll take responsibility with you. I’ll go with you to apologize to Mr. Cooper p>
“You did nothing wrong, you don’t need to apologize.” Michael gently stroked her hair.
Alice smiled lightly. She wanted Aurora to say it herself. “Aurora, if I have evidence that you’re lying, what will you do p>
No one understood what Alice meant, and Aurora hadn’t reacted when Alice spoke again, I won’t accept your apology, I will only slap you. How about that p>
Alice’s eyes fell on Aurora’s trembling lips. A slap wasn’t too much.
“Enough, Alice, do you know what you’re doing?” Michael shielded Aurora behind him, glaring at Alice.
Alice nodded. ‘I know, I’m seeking justice for myself p>
She looked at Aurora behind him. ‘Since you said you saw it, you shouldn’t be afraid of my investigation, right p>
Everyone in the room turned their eyes to Aurora, making her scalp tingle.
Besides colleagues from the company and factory, there were also many doctors and nurses.
Most importantly, Michael was also looking at her.
Aurora looked pitifully at Michael, but he didn’t speak for her.
She understood that this time she had to prove she was telling the truth, or she was finished.
