Chapter 513
Chapter 513
She gasped, like it was a betrayal or something. “Come on! We’ve talked about this p>
“We have an early morning flight, Lyric p>
“I know. We’ll be back from the party before midnight. It doesn’t change anything p>
“It does for me. I’m not going p>
She folded her arms. “I guess I’ll just go alone, then. I’ll convince Bianca to accompany me p>
I tore my eyes from the road to her face. “You’re going when I’m not p>
She blinked at me, appearing genuinely clueless. “Why not? It’s your choice if you don’t want to go. I don’t see why it should affect me p>
“Funny. You were just crowned Grand Luna, Lyric. It is inappropriate to attend social gatherings without me p>
“Please! Stop making up rules. You and I know it doesn’t exist anywhere p>
“Well, it does, and I’m telling you, you’re not leaving without me p>
And I meant it. So, by evening, I followed her to the damn party.
It was infuriating how easily she got me to change my mind on things. I was rapidly beginning to understand the things about her that I fell in love with.
Lyric wasn’t just beautiful—she was perfect. She had the softest heart with the prettiest eyes and brightest smile. The way she interacted with my kids—with our kids—it filled me with the painful realization that they’d never had a mother.
For the first time in my life, I felt complete. I felt like a man who owned the world. I may not remember all of our happy memories yet, but I was ready to make new ones with her.
In another life, even if Lyric and I got to meet as strangers, we’d definitely fall in love again.
LYRIC
The party was beyond fun. Although, it was mostly because I was next to Jaris.

I caught sight of Jace and Kael in the corner, having their own fun. The asshole. I couldn’t believe he didn’t have time for me anymore because he was back with his boyfriend.
I laughed at the thought. Who would’ve thought that Jace, my flirty straight friend, would ever be humbled by the arrogant Beta? I could still remember how he was in self-denial when he realized he was starting to feel things for Kael.
I clicked my tongue.
In another corner, Nerion stood like a statue, completely unmoved by the fun around him. My smile faded.
Nerion was a great guy who deserved happiness. I wished things had ended differently between him and Maddy.
Beside him was Bianca who was quietly drinking from her glass. She seemed to be interested in the party, but I noticed her stealing glances at Nerion from time to time. Unfortunately, though, I wasn’t sure the grumpy man noticed.
Poor Bianca.
Jaris pulled me away from the party when he was bored enough. We went over to the rooftop where we stared into the night sky above.
“Nice party, huh?” I teased him, my arms around his waist and my head on his chest.
“You wish. We’re leaving in ten minutes p>
I gasped. “Jaris p>
“No point arguing. I’m exhausted p>
