She smiled self-deprecatingly. He never liked her in the first place.
To him, her being wronged and almost going to jail was just a misunderstanding, and her seeking justice was just being
unreasonable.
She had indeed been too impulsive that day, having suppressed her anger for too long and finally releasing it.

She pushed Michael’s hand away and left directly.

He knew Otis, but only because their families had cooperated several times before.
He didn’t think Otis was an impulsive person, but today Otis and Floyd had clearly fought over Alice, which was beyond his
understanding.
“Otis, Floyd is just brainless. If he said anything offensive, I apologize on his behalf. Don’t take it personally.
Hearing Clifton’s apology, Floyd was about to speak but was silenced by a glare from Clifton.
Otis nodded politely. “It was just a misunderstanding, I’ll be leaving now p>
After he left, Floyd said sarcastically, “Just a misunderstanding? I think he wants to steal Alice from me! Clifton, it’s a good thing you were there, if my dad found out about this, I’d be in big trouble p>
Clifton glanced at Michael without showing any emotion and gave Floyd a look. “I’m not going to tattle, but you better watch yourself and stop getting into fights, you’re dragging others down p>

Floyd hooked his arm around Clifton’s neck. “Clifton, let’s have a gathering to celebrate my safe exit from the police station p>
“How about next time you go in, and we celebrate in the police station p>
Clifton rolled his eyes at him. “Go home quickly, don’t let your father find out p>
Floyd shrank his neck, thinking it was better to go home first, and left.

Michael’s tone was still indifferent, but he was certain that Alice would return.
Clifton pursed his lips. At this point, Michael still thought Alice wasn’t going to work due to her injury?
Michael had been treating Alice hypocritically for years, and Clifton felt it was unfair to her. She probably saw through everything now and didn’t plan to stay in the mire any longer.

Michael paused for a moment but didn’t say anything.
Clifton sighed. “Floyd said Otis fought with him because he teased Alice. You know Otis’s temper, right? Think about it
Michael’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked in the direction Otis had left.
Then he quickly got into his car. “I have to go, you take a cab p>
“Hey! Michael!” Clifton called out.
Michael had already driven away.
Clifton rolled his eyes in exasperation. He should have driven here himself, Michael was such a womanizer.
Michael’s car circled the city several times before finally returning to Alice’s place.
As soon as he got off the elevator, he saw Alice dragging two large suitcases.
“Where are you going p>
Hearing his voice, Alice was startled but quickly composed herself.
‘I rented an apartment, I’m moving out p>
She had been job hunting for the past few days and only had time to pack the last of her things today.
She thought Michael would be at the bar with Clifton and the others as usual, but he had unexpectedly come back.
Alice quickly stepped aside to make way. “I didn’t take the key and you can change the password p>
Michael stood at the door without moving.
He scanned the living room, feeling that something was off.

His question made Alice uncomfortable, did he think she was a thief?
She took a deep breath. ‘Mr. Johnson, I have taken all my personal belongings, everything you bought is still here.

She had wanted to say throw them away, but considering their value, selling them seemed more practical.
With every word she said, Michael’s face grew grimmer.

Alice knew he was getting angry, so she grabbed her suitcases and tried to leave.
Suddenly, the door was slammed shut, and Michael wrapped an arm around her waist, heading straight for the bathroom
As the cold water fell, she shivered instinctively.
“Feeling clear-headed now? He pressed her against the wall, his eyes cold.
Alice wiped the water off her face forcefully. I’ve always been clear-headed p>
From the moment she realized he didn’t love her and only saw her as a tool, she had been clear-headed.
It was painful, and she had wanted to leave several times.
But for her mother, for the salary, and the ten-year contract, she had endured.
Now that she finally had a chance to leave him, she wouldn’t give it up.
Her eyes were devoid of any emotion, not even a trace of desire.
Michael found it irritating and covered her eyes with his hand.
“Alice, I told you to know your place and do what you’re supposed to do p>
His hot breath sprayed on her face, the familiar scent making her close her eyes.
Her long eyelashes brushed against his palm, making him shiver.

The next second, her lips were sealed in a fierce kiss, leaving her almost unable to breathe.
