Chapter 76
Chapter 76
Alice hesitated for a brief moment, an awkward feeling settling over her, before she quietly murmured, “Back then, you also refused
to add me as a friend p>
At the time, she had actually been a little drunk, so her memory of what happened was hazy; all she could really recall was wanting
to get his contact information so she could pay him back.
After she had finally sobered up and regained her clarity, she went looking for Uriah, only to discover that he had already left and
was nowhere to be found.
Uriah offered her an apologetic smile and said, “I’m sorry, there were just too many people trying to add me on WhatsApp that day so I didn’t accept any of the requests p>
Alice listened and nodded in understanding.
It was only natural, after all, that so many people were eager to collaborate with Titan Ventures Corporation, given its prominence.
Once they had finished eating, they spent some time strolling around the school together.
Alice was genuinely excited, as it had been a long time since she had last returned, and because of that, she found herself talking much more than she usually did that day.
“This used to be the soccer field, and even the gym has been relocated somewhere else, so a lot of things have really changed over
time p>
“I used to be part of the basketball team, but I eventually had to quit because of work, so the basketball court here is the place I
was most familiar with p>
“I heard that they’ve introduced several new majors recently, and the campus has expanded-it’s now more than twice the size it
used to be p>
Uriah nodded beside her, offering a gentle, warm smile.
Suddenly, Alice found herself pulled gently into his arms, letting out a soft gasp, just as the thud of a basketball hitting the ground
echoed nearby.
A few students hurried over, repeatedly apologizing for the accident.
Alice glanced back and noticed the mark left by the basketball right where she had been standing moments before.
Realizing that their position had become slightly awkward, she quickly stepped back and gently pushed Uriah away. “Mr. Savage, thank you so much for just now,” she said with a hint of gratitude in her voice.
Uriah gave her a small nod, inclining his head slightly in acknowledgment, while a warm blush spread across her face.

Chapter 76
“Ms. Baker, don’t worry about it,” he said reassuringly, “but I think it would be better if I helped support you a little, it seems like
your ankle might be injured p>
Alice glanced down at her ankle, realizing that she had indeed walked quite a lot today, and now it throbbed with a faint, lingering
ache.
Yet she still shook her head gently. “It’s okay, I’m almost fine,” she insisted with a small, reassuring smile.
“Alright, but you should still take good care of it. I happen to know a doctor, whenever you have the time, you could go see him,” be
suggested kindly.
As Uriah spoke, he pulled out his phone and quickly sent her the doctor’s contact information.
Alice could only offer a small, grateful smile and thank him sincerely.
On their way back, however, they walked noticeably slower than usual, with Uriah seemingly adjusting his pace deliberately to make
it easier for Alice to keep up.
“Uriah!” a girl called out as she rushed toward them, leaping straight into his arms. “Didn’t you say you’d wait for me? Where did
you go p>
The girl continued to pout, clinging to Uriah and acting adorably spoiled.
Watching this, Alice felt a spark of curiosity, could this girl possibly be his girlfriend?
Uriah was slightly older than Alice, and the girl appeared to be in her early twenties, giving off a youthful yet grown-up impression.
Uriah turned toward Alice with an apologetic look. “This is my sister, Briar. Briar, please behave yourself, we have a guest here,” he
said gently.
Briar Savage turned her head and spotted Alice, immediately reaching out to grab her hand. “Ms. Baker?” she exclaimed.
Alice furrowed her brow slightly as recognition dawned, finally recalling who this girl was.
Three years ago, Michael had come to Unity College to deliver a speech, but Alice wasn’t feeling well that day and had stayed behind, missing the event.
Then she had heard rumors that a female student from Unity College had been pursuing Michael, even going so fat as to follow him to his company.
She would send him flowers and homemade cookies every few days, and during that period, Michael even insisted that Alice learn how to bake.
