Chapter 14
Chapter 14:
The next morning, soft rays of sunlight poured into the room, wrapping everything in a calm, golden glow.
Noelle stirred beneath the sheets, her lashes fluttering slightly as she blinked herself awake.
She stared up at the unfamiliar ceiling, her mind foggy for a moment—then everything came back to her. This was Ethan’s room.
Yesterday, they had registered their marriage. It still felt unreal. But like it or not, this was her new home now.
Noelle sat up slowly and glanced down at her leg. The small cuts on her calf from the broken glass were already healing nicely.
That ointment Carson had brought last night—it really worked like magic.
At breakfast, Levi sat comfortably at the head of the table, and Noelle took her seat beside Ethan.
Levi beamed at them with unmistakable excitement. “Ethan, pick a good day soon and plan the wedding with Noelle. It’ll also be a great time to let everyone know you two are married p>

Ethan nodded slightly. “Alright p>
Noelle’s eyes widened. She nudged him lightly with her leg.
Ethan tensed for a split second as her leg brushed against his. There was only a thin layer of fabric separating them, and he could clearly feel the warmth and softness of her touch.
His eyes darkened slightly as he turned to her with a quiet but pointed look, as if to ask, What are you doing?
Noelle leaned in, her voice low and close to his ear. “We just signed a divorce agreement yesterday. We’re separating in a year. If we go public now, won’t it be a mess later when we split p>
Ethan’s frown deepened.
Noelle kept her voice calm. “So let’s not rush into a wedding or any big announcements. It’s better this way, right p>
Ethan stared at her for a few seconds, his expression unreadable, before finally looking away without responding.
Turning back to Levi, Noelle smiled sweetly. “Levi, maybe we can wait a little on the wedding. There’s no hurry p>
But Levi wasn’t thrilled about waiting. He had been dreaming of holding a great-grandchild for ages. “It’s your choice, of course. If you want to take your time, I’ll respect that. But don’t make this old man wait too long, alright p>
Noelle nodded with a polite smile and smoothly changed the topic, steering the conversation in another direction.
After breakfast, Levi left for the Martin family’s ancestral home. He didn’t live at Scenery Estate full-time.
It was the weekend, and Ethan wasn’t working today.
He sat on the sofa in the living room, dressed in a loose knit sweater. A financial magazine rested in his hands, his long fingers flipping through the pages. Even in his most casual state, he still exuded that refined, distant aura.
