Chapter 470
Chapter 470
Seeing her made me feel hurt, betrayed, and a deep sense of loneliness.
I didn’t fail to notice how thin she looked. She might still have a pretty face, but she’d lost a lot of weight in a span of six months, and that was kind of alarming.
There was a deep part of me that wanted to know what was wrong with her. I couldn’t understand it. But there was also a part of me that was happy she was suffering.
I didn’t want her to be happy. Not when I wasn’t.
I heard ruffling and movements behind me before Hua appeared by my side.
“Babe. Have you been up for long?” she asked drowsily, leaning her head on my back.
I hit the end of my cigar on the railing. “I told you to only call me that in public p>
I felt her stiffen.
“Yeah, sorry. By the way, I noticed you didn’t finish on me. Was there a problem p>
Of course. How could I finish when the one person that could make me wasn’t here?
I hated the fact that I needed her.
“Do you need me to try some more?” Her voice dropped to a seductive tone, skimming her hand along my back. “I know a few tricks p>
I hissed when I noticed my cigar was done. I moved away to dispose of it in the bin.
“Get dressed and leave, Hua p>
I disappeared into the bathroom.
A couple hours later, I went off to meet the partners I came for. They could’ve easily traveled to my country for us to finalize the deal, but I intentionally asked for it to be held here because I needed a breath of fresh air.
Kael and Nerion walked closely behind me.
“Did you find anything?” I inquired as we walked toward the elevator.

Nerion answered. “It was a bit hard. Her assistant stayed back in the suite, so I couldn’t break in. It took Kael calling her from the reception, pretending to be a security personnel demanding her attention before she finally left the room. So, while she searched aimlessly for him at the reception, I hacked into the digital door and made my way in. I was able to take pictures of some vital documents. They should help us ruin a few relationships between them and some of their clients p>
We reached the elevator and went in.
“Good.” I pressed the button.
It was in times like these that I was grateful for having a smart hacker like Nerion.
I knew the split had been going just fine. The Dregs have been minding their business, likewise we. But I felt the strong need for revenge.
“You spilled wine on her dress,” Kael suddenly said, his voice chilling.
Now that I thought of it, he’d been moody since we met this morning.
“My glass slipped. It’s called an accident, Kael p>
“Except it chooses a convenient time to slip p>
I knew he had seen it happen. He had been right there, at the other end of the hallway. I remembered the hurt in his eyes.
“Caden was mad at her, you know?” he added.
What the hell do I care? “You can tell that to the Press. I’m sure they’d appreciate the information more p>
He went quiet. Even if he was standing behind me, I could tell there was a lot of rage he was trying to keep down.
