Chapter 282
The reporter’s loud voice caught the ears of everyone around.
Among the crowd were fans of Noelle, and they instantly started shouting and charging in her direction.
A dull ache began to form in Noelle’s head. There was no chance of getting away now.
As the crowd spiraled into chaos, several overexcited fans began pushing through one another, turning the area into a packed, unmoving mess.
Stepping forward, Noelle raised her voice to gently steady the excited crowd. “Please, everyone, take it easy. There’s no need to—”
Fans, moved by her kindness, erupted into even louder cheers. “She’s just the sweetest! We absolutely adore her!” someone shouted, and soon others joined in, working together to keep the excitement from turning into chaos.
Out on the fringes, reporters wasted no time aiming their cameras, filling the area with a barrage of flashes. “Noelle, what brings you to the airport all of a sudden? Is there an overseas trip in your plans?” one of them called out.

With a light, offhand—
With a calm tone, she answered, “I’m only here to pick someone up.” Curiosity wasn’t easily satisfied, and another reporter leaned forward with another question. “So, are you meeting a friend, or is it family this time?”
Before she could say a word, a voice from nearby interrupted with a mocking scoff. “Family? Does Noelle even have anyone who truly counts as family? The Moss family hardly fits the bill.”
“Shut up! Maxton and Willa are right there!” someone whispered sharply.
Intrigued, Noelle turned her head toward where they pointed. Her gaze landed on Maxton’s expressionless face and Willa’s carefully poised stance beside him. Maxton’s eyes locked onto Noelle, and his scowl deepened. Every feature of his face was twisted in open revulsion.
In a voice as soft as a breeze, Willa leaned in and remarked, “Maxton… Noelle mentioned she came to pick someone up.”
With a bitter smirk, Maxton responded, “She’s probably here for another one of her pathetic little friends. Let’s just wait for Ansell. Once he gets here, we’ll talk to him ourselves about arranging that meeting with Rhoda.”
Willa gave a quiet nod. “Okay.”
Maxton turned to her with narrowed eyes. “Didn’t you say you used to know Ansell’s assistant?”
Willa gave another nod. “Yes, Maxton. Ansell’s personal assistant and I went to college together. I’m certain Ansell brought him along for this trip to Cushouwana. Once he shows up, we can use his assistant as our way in to reach him.”
Maxton’s expression lit up with approval. “Willa, we’re lucky to have you. Without you, we wouldn’t even have a shot at getting close to Ansell.”
