Chapter 277
Chapter 277:
“Okay!” Reyna nodded quickly, obedient and hopeful.
Brayden straightened and turned to the lawyer. “Take care of all the documents. And don’t worry about Reyna; she’ll be safe with us. You’re welcome to visit anytime p>
“I feel reassured leaving her in your care. Thank you,” the lawyer replied earnestly.
Everything moved quickly after that. Reyna was taken by ambulance to a quiet private hospital just outside the city, where she could finally receive proper treatment.
At the same time, the lawyer headed directly to court to formally apply for the custody change.
When Brayden stepped into the parking lot, a figure suddenly blocked his way.
He stopped, frowning as soon as he saw who it was. “Didn’t you already leave? What are you still doing here p>
“Gracie went home. I stayed because I need to talk to you alone,” Jessie said, flicking a glance at Charlie behind him.
Brayden gave Charlie a small nod, signaling him to get in the car.
Jessie inhaled slowly. “I need you to control your emotions. You and Gracie have a marriage in name only, and once everything calms down, it’ll end. Don’t get too emotionally involved p>
Brayden’s eyes turned cold instantly. “You’re overstepping. My marriage isn’t for you to judge p>
“Gracie is my closest friend. I won’t stand by while she walks into danger,” Jessie said firmly, moving closer. “Your situation is risky. Aren’t you worried she’ll be dragged into your problems? Or are you trying to make her more attached so you can use her p>
Brayden’s brow furrowed. “What are you suggesting p>

“Exactly what you think,” Jessie replied calmly. “Gracie is straightforward and trusting. She can’t compete with someone who knows how to sway people like you do. Don’t let her misread your actions. If she does, I won’t ignore it p>
“So you came here just to warn me p>
“That’s right,” Jessie said without wavering. “She’s saved your life more than once. Don’t respond to that with betrayal p>
Her eyes shifted to the Maybach parked nearby. “You’re impressive, I admit that, but that doesn’t mean you’re suitable for her. Your presence only puts her in more danger. Now that Lia’s issues are dealt with, could you consider ending the marriage early p>
Brayden’s frown deepened, and a cold laugh escaped him. “Does Gracie know you’re here saying this p>
“No,” Jessie answered seriously. “Mr. Stanley, I’m begging you to let her go. Getting her away from all this is the only way she’ll be safe. Theo clearly has his sights set on you. You have enough power to handle him yourself. There’s no reason to keep her tangled in this p>
She took another breath. “I’ve said everything I need to. I hope you file for divorce soon. If you keep dragging this out, I’ll find my own way to separate you two p>
“Well, I’d like to see how you plan to make me divorce her,” Brayden said coldly. “You’re only speaking to me like this because you’re her friend, but your words are out of line and honestly irritating. I’ll protect her in my own way, not by listening to your threats p>
He stepped forward, towering over her. “My life isn’t yours to interfere in. I’ll pretend I didn’t hear anything today, and I don’t want you bringing it up again p>
With that, he pulled open the car door and got inside.
