Chapter 124
Chapter 124:
For the next several hours, Sophie felt like she was floating on air.
She was pampered with a full spa session, her face refreshed with a facial, her hair nourished with a rich mask, and even her nails carefully shaped and polished to perfection.
Afterward, she was guided into the dressing area, where rows of designer gowns sparkled brilliantly under the bright lights. One of the consultants selected a long, misty-blue gown from the center display.
The dress was crafted from soft organza, decorated with tiny diamonds that glittered under the lights like stars.
“Wow!” Sophie breathed, instantly captivated. “This dress is incredible. Are you saying I can actually rent something like this p>
The consultant nearby nearly lost her composure at Sophie’s words. Rent it? This wasn’t some run-of-the-mill dress. It was a singular designer masterpiece, flown in by private jet just yesterday. Sophie was the first person to ever wear it. Forget renting—it hadn’t even seen the runway yet.
Even so, her professional smile stayed in place. “Does this gown meet your expectations, ma’am p>
Sophie nodded quickly. “It’s perfect! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything this beautiful before p>
The consultant personally assisted Sophie into the gown, carefully adjusting the layers. When Sophie finally turned toward the mirror, she froze. The dress hugged her in all the right places, flowing elegantly without the need for a single adjustment.
The consultant’s polished tone softened with genuine admiration. “This gown looks like it was created just for you. It suits you even better than it did the model p>

Before Sophie could even respond, another consultant came forward, carefully carrying a set of jewelry as though it were something priceless.
Sophie’s eyes brightened with interest.
She leaned closer, completely absorbed, and the longer she looked, the more surprised she became. This wasn’t something she had ever come across in any jewelry magazine or collection she knew of.
Then her eyes caught a tiny emblem engraved inside a hidden clasp. Her breath hitched. The Pinnacle Group’s logo.
She went still for a beat.
Could this boutique really have such powerful ties? Were they actually lending out pieces straight from Pinnacle Group’s private collection?
“Wait a second!” Sophie blurted, her tone carrying both caution and disbelief. “You’re seriously telling me I don’t have to put down some huge deposit for this set p>
She raised a brow, only half joking. “Because if I walked out with these, I’d be set for life. No more worrying about rent, bills, or anything ever again p>
The consultant’s smile twitched. Inside, she was screaming. A deposit? For the Pinnacle Group’s founder’s wife? Impossible. Adrian had personally arranged for these pieces to be delivered here. Even if Sophie decided to toss them into the ocean, nobody would dare complain.
But out loud, her tone remained warm and professional. “No need for a deposit, Mrs. Knight. Just a quick ID check for our records will do p>
“Oh, alright then,” Sophie responded with a nod, finally letting out the breath she had been holding. That explanation seemed reasonable.
Still, she couldn’t help thinking it was strange that such valuable items only required an ID check. Then again, a place like this probably had unshakable connections. If anyone ever dared to run off with something, they would be tracked down before they could even get far. She chuckled to herself at the thought and let it go.
Once her outfit and jewelry were finally coordinated, a stylist led her to the makeup chair.
When her hair and makeup were done, Sophie stared at the mirror, hardly recognizing the woman looking back at her.
At the same time, the heavy curtain in the lounge quietly slid open, parting smoothly.
Adrian was seated on the sofa in the waiting area, leaning back comfortably, idly flipping through a magazine without a trace of impatience. But the second he heard the curtain shift, his head lifted instinctively. And just like that, his hand froze mid-turn of a page.
He didn’t blink. He didn’t move. His gaze locked on her as if the rest of the room had gone dark, like there was only one thing in his world worth looking at—and it was Sophie.
