Chapter 167
Chapter 167:
Upon reading this, Jenessa declined promptly.
“Sorry, I have decided not to proceed with the collaboration with your company p>
The shift in the organizer’s demeanor was immediate.
“What? But wait, we already agreed on a partnership! How can you simply change your mind p>
Jenessa responded, “Initially, I was open to the possibility of collaboration. However, after attending the show, I feel your designer still has significant room for improvement. Under these circumstances, a partnership does not seem beneficial at this time p>
Having seen Evelyn’s designs, Jenessa had made her decision clear.
She would not engage in a partnership that she deemed unfruitful. It would merely be a waste of her time.
The organizer’s tone grew confrontational.
“I doubt you even attended the show, Ms. Todd. My boss has made it clear that you cannot just retract your commitment because of your status. The Raji Group is not to be underestimated. We’ve already announced our partnership. If you renege on your agreement, we are entitled to seek substantial compensation p>
Seeing the message, Jenessa couldn’t help but feel absurd.
“I haven’t signed the contract yet. Why should I compensate?” she argued.
“I agreed to consider your offer because I thought it might lead to cooperation. You chose to announce it prematurely, which is your problem, not mine. Frankly, you used my name without permission. I should be the one asking for compensation p>

The event organizer was so infuriated that he pounded the keyboard as he typed his response.
“Just wait and see p>
Jenessa was about to reply when she realized she had been blocked.
Surprised, she raised an eyebrow, finding herself speechless.
It was probably for the best; considering the organizer’s attitude, any partnership with the Raji Group might have led to trouble.
Deciding to leave the matter behind, Jenessa prepared for bed.
Just as she was about to turn in, her phone rang. It was from Ryan.
Puzzled, she was unsure why he would call so late. Concerned it might be something important, she hesitated before answering.
“Hello, are you Ryan Haynes’ wife?” an unfamiliar voice asked.
Startled, Jenessa pulled the phone away to check the caller ID, then asked, “Who is this p>
The man on the line seemed relieved.
“Your husband has had too much to drink at Blue Friday. Could you come and pick him up p>
“That can’t be right. He hardly drinks,” Jenessa replied, taken aback.
Ryan was known for his discipline and rarely visited bars or clubs.
“You’d better come and pick him up as soon as you can,” the person on the line insisted.
“Your husband has had quite a lot to drink. The bar’s closing soon, and it wouldn’t be safe for him to leave alone in his condition p>
