“Okay,” Jenessa agreed with a nod.
After freshening up, she lay in bed, her mind racing and sleep eluding her. Her thoughts swirled around tomorrow’s engagement party. Soon, she’d be Richard’s fiancée. Marriage and becoming a family were just around the corner.
Jenessa felt as if she were living in a dream. She touched her belly, feeling a pang of unease. At that moment, it dawned on her that she wasn’t as thrilled about the engagement party. She felt a flutter of nerves and unease.
But the thought of the little ones growing inside her warmed her heart.

In the early hours of the following day, the staff who had scheduled the appointment rang the doorbell. Jenessa jolted awake.

“It’s no trouble at all, Ms. Wright. Take your time,” a staff member said, noticing the dark circles under Jenessa’s eyes.
“Looks like you had a sleepless night! Could it be you were too excited to get any rest? You’ve got some serious dark circles under your eyes p>
Jenessa touched her eyes, a little concerned.
“Do you think it’ll show at the engagement party tonight?” Her restless night had left her frequently waking up.
The staff member reassured her, “Don’t fret. You’ll look stunning. Our team of makeup artists, stylists, and photographers will make sure you shine today.” Jenessa felt a wave of relief.

“You’re a lifesaver! I rushed this morning, so I’m really grateful you’re here.” By lunchtime, everyone was too busy to grab a bite.
Soon, someone brought in a spread of food.

Brinley joked, “Richard’s just a real sweetheart, isn’t he?” Jenessa glanced over and recalled Brinley’s drunken remarks about Richard from yesterday. She believed that Brinley must have jumped to the wrong conclusion about Richard.
After finishing her makeup, the stylist led Jenessa to change into a gown. Later, Jenessa emerged with a stunning new look, transforming completely.
