Chapter 99
Chapter 99:
Maisie felt a wave of disgust upon seeing her. Her recent online scorn and the near loss of Ryan’s trust had been painful, all because of Jenessa.
Even though Ryan had managed the situation, his attitude had shifted, becoming colder.
Maisie blamed it all on Jenessa!
Surprised to see her here, Maisie saw an opportunity to confront her.
With narrowed eyes, she firmly told Aileen, “If you follow my instructions, I’ll showcase your design at the upcoming event p>
Eager to please, Aileen responded promptly, “Miss Powell, just let me know what you need, and I’ll handle it p>
Satisfied, Maisie leaned in and shared her scheme in a whisper.
Aileen nodded in agreement.
“Consider it done p>
Unaware of the animosity brewing above, Jenessa perused the clothing racks downstairs.
A shop assistant approached Jenessa and Brinley with a warm smile.
“Feel free to try on any of the pieces you like p>
Brinley responded with a nod and a grin, “Sure p>
She leaned towards Jenessa and muttered, “They call this a designer brand? It seems more like a hodgepodge of styles, nowhere near as cohesive as your work p>
Jenessa frowned slightly and whispered back, “Let’s not criticize. We should respect their effort p>
Just then, Aileen came storming downstairs.
“Are you completely unaware? Our boutique was reserved by a VIP today. Please escort these two out immediately,” she demanded brusquely. Fixing a mocking stare on Jenessa, she added, “These garments aren’t meant for those paupers who merely window-shop without intent to purchase p>

Aileen moved closer to Jenessa and pushed her gently.
“Hurry up and leave. I don’t have time to waste on those who aren’t serious buyers p>
Brinley steadied Jenessa with a swift move and, her eyes burning with anger, challenged Aileen.
“How can you treat customers like this? Calling us paupers? You really lack basic manners p>
“Manners are for my wealthy customers. You don’t deserve my politeness,” Aileen retorted scornfully.
Brinley’s temper flared, and she began to yell, “You p>
Jenessa, however, quickly intervened, placing a calming hand on Brinley’s arm.
“Let’s not stoop to her level, Brin. It’s not worth it. We should leave p>
Recognizing they were not wanted, they saw no reason to linger.
Jenessa was too tired to argue with such disrespect today.
Brinley, furious yet cognizant of Jenessa’s condition, reluctantly agreed to depart.
As they neared the store’s exit, however, a piercing alarm sounded, halting them in their tracks.
Before they could even turn around, Aileen’s voice erupted behind them.
“Look! The alarm is sounding! Stop them!” she shouted to the shop assistants, falsely accusing them.
“I warned you about these two! They’re not to be trusted! They were shoplifters p>
In no time, the shop assistants closed in on Jenessa and Brinley. Both found the situation absurd.
Jenessa inhaled deeply, her patience evident.
“Since we stepped into this boutique, that shop assistant has been tailing us. We haven’t even touched anything. What could we possibly have shoplifted p>
The shop assistant who had been shadowing them opened her mouth to respond, but a severe look from Aileen silenced her.
This frightened the shop assistant into silence.
With a scoff, Aileen declared, “My boutique holds numerous pricey accessories. You’ve surely taken some. The alarm has sounded, and yet you deny it? I must search you both p>
