Chapter 671
Chapter 671:
“No. No!” Brinley snapped back to reality and pleaded, “I really can’t take it anymore p>
Allen raised an eyebrow, noting her complete exhaustion. Reluctantly, he withdrew, saying, “Alright p>
Finally, Brinley was completely spent. Allen gathered her in his arms and led her to the bathroom to help her clean up. She had no recollection of falling asleep.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the bedroom. Brinley stirred with a vague sense of unease, her mind still hazy from sleep. Had she forgotten to draw the curtains last night? But before she could think much more, a searing headache jolted her awake. She tried to move, but pain shot through her body as if her very bones were protesting. She shifted slightly and felt as if her entire body were on the verge of falling to pieces. She let out a gasp of agony and turned over, only to find a naked man beside her.
“Ahhh!” Brinley’s scream pierced the quiet morning as she clutched the comforter tightly around her.
Allen, roused by Brinley’s shriek, blinked groggily, frowning at the commotion.
“What’s the big fuss so early in the morning?” Brinley’s terror mounted as she took in the sight of Allen and the hickeys on his body. They lay there, naked, the aftermath of the previous night clear to anyone with eyes.
But the reality was too much for Brinley to grasp.
“Why are you here? In my bed? And naked p>
Allen raised an eyebrow, calmly pointing out, “You’re naked too, you know.” He added, with a hint of nonchalance, “I was so worn out last night. You conked out fast, and after helping you get cleaned up, I didn’t have the energy to get dressed p>
Brinley’s face flushed a deep red, leaving her speechless. Noticing her reaction, Allen abruptly sat up and closed the distance between them.

“It seems you’ve forgotten what went down last night. If you need a refresher, I’m happy to jog your memory p>
Brinley was taken aback by the heat of his breath and began to piece together the events of the previous night.
She remembered the way she had thrown herself at him, touched his thigh, and kissed him… The thought was too overwhelming, and she quickly pushed him away.
“I-I admit I was responsible for what happened, but I was drunk! I didn’t know what I was doing. Now that we’re both sober, let’s just forget it ever happened. Get out of my bed. Now! And put on your clothes and leave my place p>
Allen’s frown deepened, and his voice took on a frustrated tone.
“You can’t just pretend nothing happened. There’s no way to erase what went on between us. Are you seriously going to deny it after we slept together p>
Brinley was at a loss for words. He should find himself to be blamed as well, shouldn’t he? Her frustration flared.
“So what, are we supposed to get married because of a one-night stand?” Allen fell silent at her words. Seeing his reaction, Brinley understood the unspoken answer.
“Look, it’s clear that marrying you is out of the question. So let’s just keep this between us and act like it never happened. Agreed p>
Allen still felt unsettled. Brinley had shared a night with him, but now she wanted to act like it never happened. Was he that terrible? He parted his lips, ready to respond, but his words were cut off by the shrill ring of Brinley’s phone.
Brinley’s hand shook as she grabbed the phone, and her eyes widened in panic when she saw the caller ID. It was her mother—someone she hadn’t heard from in ages! Panic gripped her, leaving her throat dry and her mind racing.
With a shaky breath, she turned to Allen and snapped, “That’s my mom calling! Stay quiet, get dressed, and get out in five minutes!” Without waiting for a response, Brinley hurried to the corner of the room, clutching the comforter around her as she answered the call. Allen’s presence only seemed to complicate her already fraught situation.
