“What did you find out?” Jenessa asked cautiously.

Maisie had to be in prison now. There just couldn’t be any other situation, right?

With a serious look on his face, Richard shook his head and let out a heavy sigh.

This only made Jenessa more anxious than she already was.

Tightly clenching the envelope in her hand, she took a moment to gather her courage before convincing herself to open it.

The only sound that could be heard inside the car was the rustling of paper as she slowly withdrew the documents.

After what seemed like forever, Jenessa finally took out the documents. As she quietly went through the content, she first widened her eyes in disbelief, then her face turned pale.

For a moment, her heart plummeted to depths unknown.

The document clearly revealed that Maisie, who was supposed to be behind bars, had actually been taken away from the prison not long ago. The reason given for this was that Maisie had been three weeks pregnant, and it just wasn’t appropriate for her to stay behind bars.

The document carried undeniable evidence, and it was accompanied by the hospital’s official certification. All the signatures on it looked nothing short of authentic.

Considering Maisie had exited Ryan’s hotel room at the time, it was unsurprising that she was now pregnant with his child.

Moreover, earlier in the afternoon, she had seen a figure that bore a striking resemblance to Maisie. Now that she looked back, she realized that it was most definitely Maisie.

That Ryan would still desperately protect Maisie despite all the heinous things she had done broke Jenessa’s heart and made her feel even more pained.
