Chapter 26
Chapter 26:
“Ms. Todd, rest assured we’ll have the samples ready and sent to you as soon as possible,” the brand representative said politely.
Jenessa, who was also excited to see her designs come to life, replied, “Thank you as well for your hard work p>
The next day, Jenessa went to work at WorldLink as usual.
However, as soon as she reached her office, Jenessa found a bouquet of roses conspicuously placed on her desk.
Puzzled, she sought answers from her colleagues.
“What’s going on? Where did these flowers come from p>
One of her colleagues, Gina Hayden, was nearby and immediately hurried over, eager for a chance to gossip.
“A delivery guy just dropped them off earlier. It’s probably from one of your admirers, don’t you think? Jenessa, are you secretly dating someone p>
Gina grinned, eyeing the bouquet with a hint of envy.
“And this guy even sent you roses. How romantic p>
Suddenly, Ryan’s face flashed in Jenessa’s mind. Could he have sent the flowers? But she dismissed the thought as quickly as it came.
“I’m not seeing anyone, so this must be a mistake p>
“Jenessa, quit joking around. The flowers obviously are for you!” Unconvinced, Gina reached for the bouquet and found a card nestled among the beautiful buds.
The card read, “Dear Jenessa, what happened the other day was my fault. Please forgive me p>

Gina’s eyes lit up, and she couldn’t help but squeal in excitement.
“See?! I knew it! Jenessa, you clearly have a secret boyfriend! And judging by the card, you must’ve gotten into a fight with him p>
Her words attracted the attention of other colleagues in the room.
“Oh, my gosh! Jenessa, are you really in a relationship p>
“When did this happen? How could you keep it from us for so long p>
“Spill the tea, sis! What’s he like p>
In no time, several colleagues crowded around Jenessa’s desk, eager to know more.
The ruckus was giving Jenessa a headache. She took a deep breath and patiently explained to them, “I’m not in a relationship, okay? I don’t even know who this is from p>
As soon as she finished speaking, it suddenly occurred to her that these flowers might have come from Tucker. And the mere thought made her stomach churn in disgust.
Her colleagues, however, remained skeptical.
“Jenessa, you can’t break up with your boyfriend over a petty fight. It’s normal for couples to quarrel p>
Jenessa felt exasperated listening to their assumptions. It was as though they had already made up their minds about her and her non-existent boyfriend and were conjuring up their own stories. She didn’t want to waste her breath explaining anymore, so she took the bouquet and was about to throw it away when Ryan happened to pass by, witnessing the scene.
“What are you all doing gathered here?” he asked in an icy tone.
“Don’t you have work to do p>
Everyone quickly dispersed like mice, returning to their desks.
