Chapter 648
Chapter 648:
“It’s about my old friend. I still have some of her design drafts, and I’ve always wanted to bring them back to life. But I’ve never found the right designer. After seeing your work, I thought you might be the one. I’d really appreciate it if we could meet up to discuss it further. I’ll show you her designs, and you can decide whether you’d like to take on the project p>
He paused, then added earnestly, “I truly hope we can work together, Sloane. To be honest, she means a great deal to me. I’m deeply committed to reviving her designs. If she knew they were being brought back to life, I’m sure it would make her incredibly happy p>
Jenessa’s eyes lit up, and she replied without hesitation, “No problem p>
She was intrigued by this mysterious friend of Jonathan’s. The chance to see her work? That was something she couldn’t pass up. Besides, the idea of restoring a deceased designer’s creations felt deeply meaningful to her. It stirred something inside her.
“That’s wonderful. I really appreciate it. We’ll meet after the competition and dive into the details,” Jonathan said with a warm smile.
“Sounds good,” Jenessa agreed.
After hanging up, she found herself wondering about Jonathan’s friend. Who was she? What kind of woman left behind designs that resonated so deeply with her own style? Was it fate? Some sort of cosmic connection?
Jenessa didn’t dwell on it too long, though. There was still a mountain of competition details to sort through, and she wasn’t one to leave things unfinished. She hadn’t made her way through all the documents before it was time to head home. Without a second thought, she grabbed the stack and brought them with her, pouring over each page well into the night.
The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, the ringing of her phone cut through her sleep.

She was utterly exhausted, her eyelids too heavy to lift. After what felt like an eternity of blindly groping around the nightstand, she finally found her phone and sluggishly pressed it to her ear.
“Hello? Who’s calling?” Jenessa muttered weakly.
Richard chuckled on the other end of the line and said, “We don’t speak for one day, and suddenly you forget about me p>
Jenessa, upon hearing his voice, realized it was Richard on the phone.
“What’s up, Rick p>
Richard, feigning disappointment, said, “You have such a bad memory. You forgot what we planned to do so quickly p>
His words made Jenessa instantly sit up.
She had been looking at the venue for the engagement party the previous day. Richard had told her that they would be going to the jewelry store to look at rings together today.
Hurriedly, she got out of bed.
“I’m so sorry, Rick. I really am. The information about the competitors occupied me, and I forgot. I’m coming right now p>
“It’s alright. Take your time,” Richard said gently.
She quickly put on her shoes and said, “I’m ready. Where are you now p>
“I’m already downstairs,” Richard replied.
Surprised, she went to the window and looked down.
Sure enough, Richard’s car was parked downstairs.
Richard, who was leaning against the car, waved at her.
