Chapter 27
Chapter 27:
In the blink of an eye, Jenessa was left standing alone with the bouquet of roses, directly facing Ryan’s piercing gaze with nowhere to hide. The vibrant red roses contrasted sharply with Jenessa’s delicate demeanor, momentarily causing Ryan to lose his composure. But within half a second, his expression darkened as he sternly asked, “Jenessa, what the hell’s going on? Who gave you those roses p>
Before Jenessa could respond, Gina answered for her, a tinge of jealousy in her tone.
“One of Jenessa’s admirers gave her the roses. She’s quite popular among the men here, Mr. Haynes p>
Admirers?
Ryan’s expression darkened. No wonder Jenessa was in such a rush to divorce him—it turned out she had already found someone else! Her admirer even had the audacity to have the roses delivered here. Did Jenessa not care that she was still married?
Rage surged through Ryan’s veins, his eyes turning bloodshot. Now, the bouquet of roses looked even more offensive.
He let out a sneer, plunging the atmosphere in the office into an icy chill.
“Jenessa, get rid of that stupid thing right this instant p>
Jenessa arched one eyebrow in confusion.
“‘Stupid thing’? What ‘stupid thing p>
Following Ryan’s gaze, she finally realized that he was talking about the bouquet.
“What, the bouquet p>
Ryan’s dark expression soured even further, his tone turning even icier.

“What else? Ms. Wright, please do not bring irrelevant items to work p>
Whether it was his icy tone or the way he so coldly addressed her, Jenessa felt a surge of irritation. She had planned to discard the flowers anyway, but what gave Ryan the right to speak to her so condescendingly?
Exhaling sharply, she met Ryan’s gaze with a cold look of her own and shot back, “Mr. Haynes, there isn’t any company policy that prohibits employees from receiving flowers at work p>
Her colleagues let out a collective gasp.
Did Jenessa actually talk back to the big boss p>
How dare she!
Ryan was equally surprised by Jenessa’s defiance. After all, she had never spoken to him this way before. But in his eyes, it seemed she really liked the flowers from her admirer—to the point she was unwilling to part with them.
Realizing this, Ryan gritted his teeth angrily.
“There is one now,” he hissed through gritted teeth. Turning to Rohan, who was standing behind him, he barked, “Make sure she gets rid of them p>
With that, he strode into his office, but he left a tense silence in his wake. A few minutes later, Rohan knocked on the door and entered. Ryan sat expressionlessly at his desk, not even bothering to look up as he asked, “Done p>
Rohan nodded.
“Yes p>
Ryan finally seemed satisfied, but for good measure, he issued one more order.
“Make sure no one ever receives flowers in the office again p>
Rohan, who usually obeyed orders without question, couldn’t help but comment, “Mr. Haynes, even if you issue such a rule, I doubt it’ll be followed. Jenessa’s a very nice, attractive girl. Ever since she joined the company, many employees have taken a liking to her. They might just send flowers to her in private p>
