Chapter 603
Chapter 603:
The onlookers watched them with envy. Jenessa thought she should feel happy, but deep inside, she always felt empty. She couldn’t feel at ease.
“I like it very much. Thank you for doing this for me,” she said softly.
After dinner, Richard didn’t keep her out any longer and drove her home, mindful of her physical condition.
After bidding Richard goodbye, Jenessa turned around and went upstairs. Suddenly, she sensed someone’s intense gaze on her from behind.
Her heart raced, and she instinctively turned around, wanting to find out who it was…
However, when Jenessa looked around, she saw no one.
She didn’t see the figure she had thought she had noticed, nor did she see the familiar tall shape she had expected.
She let out a wry smile. Maybe the recent events had put a strain on her mind, causing her to hallucinate. Just now, she had even felt as though Ryan was nearby.
But she quickly dismissed that ridiculous thought. How could that be possible?
He had said so many cruel things about her publicly. She doubted he still thought about her. He was probably having a good time with Maisie.
Jenessa sighed and walked back inside. She needed to get Ryan out of her mind.
Ryan had lied to her countless times. He had helped get Maisie out of jail repeatedly and even had a baby with her. Now, Jenessa didn’t even want to think about getting back with him.
She had been hurt so many times because of him, and she couldn’t let that happen again.
Unbeknownst to Jenessa, a car had come into view after she had returned to her room, and it had been keeping surveillance on her.
When it was almost dawn, the car drove off to avoid detection.
The next morning, Jenessa’s assistant ran up to her as she arrived at the studio.
“Boss, there’s news. The client you had the altercation with yesterday got into a car accident p>

Jenessa was dumbfounded.
“How? What happened to him?” she asked.
“He was involved in a car accident. I heard his condition is critical p>
“He got what was coming to him,” someone said nearby.
“That’s true. He humiliated us and assaulted our boss. He deserves what he got p>
“Karma got him p>
“He injured Sloane’s hand. Her hand is her most important asset as a designer. Now, she won’t be able to draw any designs for the next few weeks p>
Jenessa, overhearing the staff’s discussion, realized there was something off about the situation. It wasn’t just a coincidence that the client had assaulted her yesterday in the studio and was now in the hospital after a car accident shortly afterward.
She had a strong feeling that the car accident was connected to her.
“How is he now?” Jenessa asked.
The assistant sighed and whispered, “I heard one of his arms was amputated…” She paused, clearly disturbed by the thought of a bloody amputated arm.
“He was fine just yesterday. Now, he’s an amputee p>
Jenessa was taken aback by this turn of events. She suddenly remembered Richard’s comment from the day before. He had promised to get revenge for her. She recalled the cold, calculating look in his eyes when she had told him about the incident.
Did Richard cause the accident? She pushed the thought aside almost immediately. Richard would never do something like that. He had always been kind to her and would never hurt someone in that way.
“One of the clients who caused trouble in our studio yesterday suddenly got into a car accident afterward. Do you think it has anything to do with our studio?” someone asked.
“It’s possible he could try to frame someone,” another person responded, their face etched with worry.
The assistant, however, dismissed the idea.
“It has nothing to do with us. He drove drunk. It’s not our fault he chose to drive while inebriated. He can’t blame us for that p>
