Chapter 269
Chapter 269:
This time, Jenessa was determined not to let Maisie off the hook so easily!
Ignoring the chatter around her, she gazed at Ryan with an impassive expression and asked icily, “Need proof? I’ve got it covered. Fortunately, I came prepared p>
Hearing this, Maisie was taken aback. Could Jenessa really have proof? She instinctively glanced at Jenessa’s hands but found nothing.
Just as Maisie was about to mock her, Jenessa pulled out her phone.
With a quick tap on the screen, everyone present received a notification on their phones simultaneously.
“You can check your emails. I’ve compiled and sent over the evidence,” Jenessa stated calmly as she slipped her phone back into her pocket.
The crowd eagerly checked their phones.
Suddenly, screams erupted from the group.
“Oh my God! Can you believe this p>
“How could Maisie possibly do that p>
In an instant, the way everyone viewed Maisie shifted.
Maisie, however, didn’t receive any notification and had no idea what was happening. She looked at the shocked faces around her, panic rising within her. Unable to handle it any longer, she rushed to a man and snatched his phone.
“Hey! What are you doing?” the man protested, trying to take his phone back.
Maisie turned away to block the phone’s owner, her hands trembling as she read the email’s contents. Her expression darkened immediately.

She was finished.
Ryan, too, received the email. He opened it and quickly skimmed through it. His expression grew even more solemn within moments.
In the mass email Jenessa sent, she revealed chilling evidence: records of Maisie’s transactions with a gangster on the dark web. Attached were their chat logs, in which Maisie explicitly ordered the hit on Jenessa.
The email also included damning proof that Maisie had meticulously orchestrated the entire plot. Now, there was nothing Maisie could say to defend herself.
The recipients of the email were left in stunned silence, the weight of the revelations settling in.
Upon seeing Ryan’s grim expression, Jenessa smirked and asked mockingly, “Mr. Haynes, is this evidence good enough for you p>
Ryan, who had fallen silent, slowly raised his head. His brows furrowed as he met Jenessa’s cold gaze.
“Why didn’t you show us the evidence sooner? Why did you wait until now?” he asked, his voice tinged with frustration.
Jenessa chuckled, her eyes glinting with defiance.
“If I had presented this evidence from the start, would you have turned Maisie in? No. You would’ve eagerly covered it up, destroying the evidence before I could go to the police, wouldn’t you p>
At the mention of being turned in, all the color drained from Maisie’s face. The disdainful and disgusted gazes directed her way made her feel increasingly agitated.
“I can’t go to jail! Jenessa, shut your mouth! You’re just spouting nonsense!” Maisie shouted, desperation in her voice.
Overwhelmed with panic, she threw herself at Ryan and burst into tears.
