Chapter 714
Chapter 714:
Allen immediately grabbed her by the wrist.
“What do you mean by that? Is there any other man in your life besides me p>
“No, but if you don’t treat me well, I might run off with any other man who might pursue me,” Brinley teased.
Allen’s face, however, darkened. He didn’t seem to understand that she was joking.
“You’re serious?” he asked.
Allen suddenly sat up, causing Brinley to cry out in surprise as he pulled her into his arms.
The atmosphere seemed charged.
“I’d advise you to take back what you just said. Otherwise, I’ll have to remind you of the consequences of crossing me,” he growled.
Brinley felt a chill run down her spine. However, she didn’t back down. Stubbornly, she said, “What consequences? I’m not scared. Hmm p>
Before she could finish speaking, Allen kissed her. His tongue went deep into her mouth, leaving her no time to pull away. The kiss was more intense than the previous one, carrying a hint of punishment.
What happened next made Brinley regret her words.
She wanted to apologize but found she couldn’t speak as the kiss stole her breath. She finally understood that her words had caused her trouble.
Richard walked Jenessa back to the hotel.
“Get some rest. You’ve been overworking yourself for the past few days. I know you love your work, but you have to remember that you’re pregnant,” Richard said.
“I know. Take care of yourself too, Rick,” Jenessa replied with a smile.

Richard pulled her into a gentle hug.
Finally, he let her go and said, “Alright, it’s cold out here. Go on inside p>
Jenessa nodded.
“Be careful,” she said, then went inside.
When she returned to her hotel room, she felt a deep sense of loneliness. The quietness of the room only worsened this feeling. Today, she had won the first round of the competition. She should have been happy.
However, for some reason, she felt hollow and empty, as though something was missing.
An image of Ryan flashed through Jenessa’s mind.
However, she quickly banished it from her thoughts.
She shook her head and whispered to herself, “Jenessa, have some dignity. Stop thinking about Ryan p>
They were both, after all, engaged to different people, so they could never be together again. Ryan was probably happy with Maisie, so why should she feel sad about him?
Jenessa took a deep breath, finally calming down.
In truth, she had slowly been forgetting about Ryan for a while now.
That was progress.
She believed he would soon be a distant memory in her life. This thought brought a faint smile to her lips.
She regained her composure, grabbed a change of clothes, and headed to the bathroom to clean up.
