Chapter 10
Chapter 10:
“S-sir, where are you going so late at night p>
“To the study!” Ryan barked, his tone icy.
If the moody Ryan had gone to the study at this hour, he probably wouldn’t return. Realizing this, Jenessa finally breathed a sigh of relief and gradually fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, before leaving, Jenessa found Ryan sitting on the sofa.
Dressed impeccably in a custom-tailored suit, Ryan looked particularly elegant as he idly flipped through a financial newspaper.
Jenessa held her breath and started tiptoeing towards the door, hoping to sneak past him unnoticed. However, just as she reached for the doorknob, Ryan suddenly called out, “Wait p>
Jenessa stiffened. Turning around, she met his cold, indifferent gaze.
“You’re coming with me to meet a client p>
Surprised, Jenessa asked, “Isn’t it usually Rohan who accompanies you to client meetings p>
Rohan Sanders, Ryan’s trusted male secretary, was always the go-to for such meetings.
Ryan’s lips curled into a mocking smile.
“Jenessa, isn’t this what you wanted? Complaining to Grandma about me—wasn’t it all to secure a more important position by my side p>
Complaining? Jenessa was stunned. She hadn’t made a single complaint to Nadine, had she? Was Ryan acting this way because of what Nadine had said about giving her opportunities to excel?

Frowning, Jenessa opened her mouth to defend herself, but Ryan cut her off impatiently.
“Enough. Don’t waste time; you’re coming with me whether you like it or not. Now, go to my study and fetch the documents for the meeting p>
With a sigh, Jenessa reluctantly did as she was told.
Soon, she and Ryan ended up in a private room at a restaurant. Inside, several business magnates had already gathered. Upon seeing Ryan, they all showed respectful expressions.
“Mr. Haynes, you’re finally here,” a potbellied middle-aged man named Julio Sawyer greeted Ryan eagerly, inviting him to take a seat.
Ryan nodded and sat down at the head of the table.
Julio was about to sit next to Ryan when he noticed Jenessa. She looked particularly stunning under the soft, warm lighting of the room.
Julio’s eyes lit up eagerly. Without thinking, he grabbed Jenessa’s wrist and forced her to sit beside him.
“Hey, beautiful, there are no other seats, so you’d better sit here p>
Jenessa, being yanked mercilessly by this disgusting man, tried to pull away.
“Sir, what do you think you’re doing p>
Panic welled up in her heart as she looked to Ryan for help, but he was too engrossed in conversation with the others to notice, seemingly oblivious to her plight.
Julio, however, saw the desperation on her face and laughed lecherously.
“Sweetie, it seems you’re inexperienced. Let me spell it out for you. Mr. Haynes brought you, a pretty lady, to this meeting; don’t you understand what that means p>
