Chapter 246
Chapter 246:
Ryan took a deep breath, his voice low and raspy.
“Jenessa, was that an accident or did you do it on purpose p>
Jenessa paused, taken aback by the unusual tone in his voice. A wave of heat rushed to her face as comprehension washed over her. It was then that she realized something solid was uncomfortably pressing against her thighs.
Startled, she made to rise quickly from him.
“I didn’t mean it. I just p>
As she shifted, Ryan’s restraint wavered, his desire intensifying with her every movement. He longed to pin her beneath him at that moment. However, they were still in the nursing home, right next to his grandmother’s ward.
“Shut up!” Ryan commanded, his voice strained as he fought his rising desire.
“Don’t move p>
With his hand still on her slender waist, he struggled to contain the desires Jenessa had stirred in him. Terrified, she froze, fearing any movement might escalate the situation. Time seemed to stretch endlessly before Ryan’s breathing finally slowed.
“I’ll let you go this time. If it happens again, you know the consequences,” he said fiercely. Eventually, he released her and retreated to the bathroom. The sound of running water soon filled the silence he left behind.
Jenessa lay on the bed, a bit lost, listening to the water running in the bathroom. As time passed, a tinge of worry crept over her. It seemed Ryan had been in the shower for ages. The thought of him calming his desires with a cold shower made Jenessa’s cheeks flush.
At last, the flow of water in the bathroom ceased. When Ryan opened the door and stepped out in a bathrobe, a sudden chill enveloped Jenessa. She was taken aback. Had he taken a cold shower?

Jenessa was about to comment, but then she realized it was probably to cool off. She held her tongue, not wanting Ryan to think she was intentionally provoking him.
Ryan avoided eye contact with her and settled onto the sofa, his voice hoarse as he said, “Turn off the light and let’s sleep p>
Jenessa complied, flicking off the light, and the room was once again plunged into darkness. She stared into the darkness silently, her mind far from sleep. The recent nightmare lingered, leaving her with an unsettling feeling. She feared that closing her eyes would only bring back the terrifying scenes.
Ryan, lying on the small sofa, found it even harder to sleep. The sofa was too small for his long limbs, leaving him uncomfortably positioned. Despite the cold shower, the yearning within him persisted unabated.
As a result, neither of them managed to sleep until daybreak.
The following day arrived swiftly.
Outside the operating room, Ryan and Jenessa stood solemnly as Nadine was wheeled in. Being family members, they could only wait and hope for the best.
Although Jenessa had spoken to Nadine earlier, her worry lingered. She anxiously fixated on the light above the operating room, her restless emotions driving her to pace back and forth uncontrollably.
Ryan watched her pacing, noticing that her nervousness only seemed to intensify. He pursed his lips in dissatisfaction before saying, “Jenessa, could you please stop pacing? Sit down now and try not to be disruptive p>
Jenessa glanced at him, opting not to argue, and reluctantly took a seat.
Jenessa instinctively touched her belly and murmured inwardly, “Baby, your great-grandmother will be alright. She’s such a kind and gentle soul. She’ll be here to witness your growth. Let’s pray for her together, alright p>
