Chapter 391
Chapter 391:
Jenessa noticed his avoidance of the issue, snorted softly, and climbed into the car.
Once they were all seated, Rohan attempted to ease the tension with a smile.
“Ms. Wright, please don’t be upset. Mr. Haynes had too much to drink last night, and since there was no one to look after him at his villa, I thought it best to bring him to your place. I apologize for the inconvenience p>
Jenessa was not ready to drop the matter, challenging them.
“I’m not his caretaker. Aren’t there maids at his villa p>
She turned to Ryan, looking for a response, but he just stared silently out the window.
“There are no maids at Mr. Haynes’ new residence,” Rohan gently clarified.
Surprised, Jenessa pressed further, “No maids at the new house? Why couldn’t Maisie look after him p>
Rohan responded with a smile, “Miss Powell is currently staying at the previous villa for her recuperation.” He sensed that Ryan was giving him the nod to disclose these details.
Growing suspicious, Jenessa frowned and asked, “Ryan, aren’t you and Maisie supposed to be getting married? Why are you living separately p>
Ryan, unable to stay quiet any longer, responded, “Who said I was marrying Maisie p>
Jenessa was momentarily stunned, ready to retort that he had told her so, but then she realized that Ryan had never actually said such a thing. It had always been Maisie who boasted about their impending marriage, flaunting it in front of her.
It dawned on her that all the talk of Ryan and Maisie’s relationship was just hearsay, never confirmed by Ryan himself. The more Jenessa considered this, the more perplexed she felt, unsure of what to make of Ryan’s intentions.

Just as she was gearing up to delve deeper, the car halted. Rohan chimed in, “Ms. Wright, we’ve arrived p>
This reminder cut through Jenessa’s thoughts, and knowing she had pressing matters to attend to at the studio, she decided to hold off on her questions. She turned and opened the car door, pausing to glance back at Ryan before stepping out.
“Don’t forget our meeting tonight,” she reminded him.
Ryan returned her look with a gentle gaze, reassuring her, “Don’t worry, I won’t forget p>
Jenessa hurried into the studio and immediately asked, “What’s the issue here p>
Once she understood the situation, she quickly got to work resolving it. The problem was minor, involving some fine-tuning of the clothing designs. Several assistants and designers in the studio were new and apprehensive about making mistakes, so they proceeded cautiously.
After spending some time working through the adjustments, they finally completed the task.
Jenessa then headed to the break room to make some coffee. As she entered, she overheard snippets of a conversation among a few designers.
“Our boss definitely has a boyfriend! I’d bet 20 bucks,” one designer declared confidently.
Another responded skeptically, “No way. She looks too focused on her work. When would she even have time to date p>
An excited voice added, “I was late this morning because I took some time off, and I saw her stepping out of a luxury car. Her boyfriend must be some big shot p>
The designers split into factions, some agreeing, others disagreeing, and they even began discussing placing bets on it.
Jenessa sighed deeply, frustrated by the persistent rumors about her personal life. Unable to ignore the chatter, she stepped forward and knocked on the wall to catch their attention. The group turned, startled by her presence.
